Frederic Bourke, co-founder and chairman of Dooney & Bourke, has been sentenced to 366 days in prison due to taking a role in a conspiracy bribe. Apparently, Mr. Bourke had bribed officials in Azerbaijan during a 1998 oil deal.

It wasn’t Mr. Bourke himself who bribed officials, but he was aware of the bribery. He was found guilty in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Mr. Bourke will remain chairman of the company during his time in prison.
